The controls of the ColorTouch thermostat were thoughtfully laid out to make its use intuitive and engaging. Heat and Cool Indicators give "at-aglance" information on heating and cooling, so you can easily see if the air conditioning or heating equipment is on. Optional Outdoor Temperature Sensor -- the ColorTouch thermostat can be wired with an outdoor sensor so that the outside temperature can be displayed right on the screen. You have the option to display the high and low temperatures for the day.
CONTRACTORS: When it is time to change a filter, time for maintenance, or the homeowner just wants to know who to call for service, this is the screen that pops up on the display.
You can easily enter the text for this screen directly on the thermostat. If you want to add the company's logo or picture to this screen, ColorTouch Assistant software makes that easy to do as well.

I can't believe how much this thermostat does. It's super easy to use, I can put in my own pictures to make a photo slideshow or even just change the background, and I can connect to it through wifi and see the temperatures in the house or outside, and change settings from anywhere with my iPhone. I bought the wifi card (which was surprisingly inexpensive and has NO MONTHLY FEES!!) so I could change the temperature settings on the thermostat remotely, in case I forgot to turn it off or wanted to turn it on, on my way home. But I realized I can even use the iphone like a remote control for the thermostat IN the house, too - for example, my phone is on a charger next to me all night - so now I can adjust the temperature on my thermostat in the middle of the night without getting out of bed. Nice...
Also I love being able to send a text message that will display on the thermostat.
PS - I had this product professionally installed by an HVAC contractor, very happy with the results.

Love this thermostat! It's beautiful, and easy to install (if you read the directions). If you don't have five wires then just use the Add-a Wire accessory, or buy a roll of 5 wire thermostat wire, and rewire, not that difficult. I also bought the WiFi key which is great because you can control the heat and air wherever you happen to be with the cell phone app! Awesome!

I just installed the t5800 and i cannot be happier with the product. it lets you control your thermostat from your home computer, office computer, the thermostat itself and even my iphone, with the free app. I can also monitor the daily, weekly and monthly usage. best of all, i can turn on or off the a/c and heat from anywhere i have a cell or wifi connection. in addition, the screen can be used as a digital slide show for your favorite photos. an excellent product!

This programmable thermostat is phenomenal. I can create a schedule for my household that changes the temperature of my home throughout the day in order to be the most energy efficient. I can also schedule my vacation down to the return date and time {I am talking down to the hour I will walk in the door!}.
The ColorTouch Thermostat turns into a digital picture frame when in screensaver mode {I have mine set as a slideshow that changes out the pictures every 30 seconds. There are all kinds of options available}.
This thermostat is Wifi enabled, meaning I can remotely adjust my settings from my home computer or my mobile devise. How cool is that? Forgot to turn off the air conditioning - no problem! I can change my settings while in line at the movie theater... Yeah, there is an App for that {and it's free}.
The ColorTouch Thermostat is incredibly easy to use. The menu options are pretty self explanatory, if you are unsure of how to navigate this thermostat the owner's manual that comes with the thermostat explains everything really well. And if that doesn't work there is an online support resource available as well.
You can track your energy usage. There are run-time graphs available for you to see how much energy you use. I think this is awesome!
Seriously this thermostat is super easy to navigate and it does it all! It is amazing and I would HIGHLY reccomend this to anyone!

Very impressed with this thermostat. The backlit color display is beautiful and being able to choose themes (day and night) or use personal photos as the background is brilliant.
Replacing the old thermostat (a Lennox touchscreen) was easy and this Venstar is suitable for almost any HVAC installation since it includes a huge variety of install options.
Highly recommended.

I did lots of research - in order to find the ultimate thermostat. Some kind of gadget that my friends and family would notice as they walked by it. Because they know me and my ultimate gadgets around the house! This one does exactly that. My wife loves the ease of operation and the clear settings and controls! The only thing I did not like about it was the separte outdoor temp sensor that I ordered along with it because it was not WIRELESS. I would have to add a wire from the thermostat to the outdoor temp sensor (where ever I wanted to mount it) and I was not going to drop another wire into the wall and through the attic to the out side somewhere (that would just be too much work). But everything else about this thermostat is very impressive! I recommend it!
