It’s a thermostat, it’s a picture frame—and it’s easy to access from anywhere in the world.
Venstar just announced the Skyport Wi-Fi Key for its ColorTouch residential thermostat. That new add-on allows the ColorTouch to tap into Venstar’s Skyport Cloud Services. When used in conjunction with Venstar’s new mobile app, homeowners can remotely monitor and control that home thermostat from anywhere in the world.
The ColorTouch is a programmable touchscreen thermostat with plenty of options for customizable backgrounds. In other words, you can use your own personal photos and over a dozen preset themes to personalize that thermostat.
The new mobility features allow users to control energy usage and reduce energy costs, from any location, at any time. Other features include the ability to send text messages to the thermostat display, view incoming alerts, and set a pictorial display of the current weather and weather forecast.
Compatible with iOS devices, the Blackberry, Android devices, the Mac and PC, the ColorTouch app allows users to access up to 10 thermostats in up to 10 locations. It could even spawn a little “heat,” since multiple people can control thermostats at the same home individually from their mobile devices.
The ColorTouch residential thermostat with Skyport Wi-Fi Key is available now, for under $300. Existing ColorTouch owners can add in the Skyport Wi-Fi Key upgrade for under $100. For more on the ColorTouch thermostat and its new features, check out the video below.
